Our Projects > Your Voice, Your City

The main aim of this project is to support voluntary and community sector organisations in their capacity to provide support and opportunities to Londoners to engage with and influence regional and local policy makers and funders. Through this project, London Civic Forum will aim to develop voluntary and community sector organisations’ understanding of the role of key London agencies and funding bodies - such as the Greater London Authority (GLA)-  and develop opportunities for them to influence and shape their work.  In addition, LCF will support voluntary and community sector organisations wishing to debate and engage in policy development.

 London Civic Forum is in a unique position to facilitate involvement between the voluntary and community sector and public service providers. London Civic Forum has a particular role and relationship with the GLA and its functional bodies for transport, policing, safety and economic development, and has organised and facilitated successful programmes of engagement between these bodies and the voluntary and community sector in the past.

London Civic Forum will host a range of activities and events under the Your Voice, Your City programme which facilitate increased voluntary and community sector engagement with public service providers and funders, helping to develop and maintain strong partnerships between the two. These activities will include  capacity building workshops, consultation events and Action Learning sets. In addition, Your Voice, Your City has decided to extend the popular ‘How London Works’ events series.

London Civic Forum (LCF) began work under the new Your Voice, Your City programme in July 2008. This three year programme is funded under London Councils’ Policy Voice funding stream.
