Empowering Young London: A youth-led investigation into what works and what doesn’t
London Civic Forum commissioned Independent Academic Research Studies (IARS) to research the barriers to empowerment for marginalised young people in London. This was specifically related to mainstream empowerment mechanisms that already exist across London such as the Young Mayors Scheme. An executive summary is also available, including a case study of a voluntary and community sector organisation that successfully engages marginalised young people.

Green Light Youth Campaign
Engagement of a group of young people in the development of an alternative mechanism for getting involved in regional policy campaigns. The campaign enabled young people to openly voice their opinions about issues that affect them and that challenge common stereotypes portraying young people as disengaged from society.

Embedding Transformative Engagement
The project was part of the “How London Works for Active Citizens” proposal to establish peer mentoring groups to increase understanding of regeneration policies and practices.
