Take Part is an approach to active citizenship learning which builds people’s skills, knowledge and confidence to help them get more involved in their local communities.

Goal:
To develop a creative, sustainable programme to help Londoners build the skills, confidence, knowledge, motivation and inspiration to create positive change in their communities.

To help organisations across sectors better enable local people to get active in their communities and influence the decisions which affect their lives.

Funders:
The Take Part Learning Programme is funded by the Transition Fund 2011-12.

Timeline:
The programme was launched in June 2011. The strategic development phase (funded by the Transition Fund) will close in March 2012, when LCF will launch our new, self-funded Take Part Learning Programme.

Additional information:
We offer a wide range of tailored support for London organisations across sectors, including:

  • Running active citizenship learning and community engagement sessions
  • Training for staff and volunteers on facilitating active citizenship learning
  • Support with planning, resourcing and evaluating active citizenship learning activities
  • Tailor-made resources promoting active citizenship opportunities (e.g. leaflets, mini-films)
  • Further support in response to local need
